The State Highway Administration (SHA) provides an opportunity for volunteers of numerous communities, civic, family and business groups to become involved in the improvement of our environment by helping to keep Maryland State Highways litter free.
Community Triangle has agreed to pick-up litter along two-mile stretch of roadway along Route 40 at the north end of town for a two year period (four pick-ups per year).
SHA provides us with safety information, vests, hats, metal road sign with our name and roll-up safety sign.
The benefits of the Adopt-A-Highway Program speak for itself. Taxpayers save hundreds of thousands of dollars each year thanks to the volunteers who clean other people's trash from the Free State's roads. Also, this is an opportunity for the LGBT community and friends in the area to demonstrate once again that we are concerned about the community and environment, just like everyone else!
Contact Community Triangle if you are interested in joining our effort to make Hagerstown a better place for everybody to live.
